The Gayo people have the work philosophy from generation to generation which has been used as the guidance in fulfilling their daily needs. In fact, this philosophy seems to be eroded since it is no longer maintain as a sustainable tradition. The preservation of community traditions should be done through education as transformational investment. Based on the findings, these values consisted of bidik (quick), mersik (strong), cerdik (smart) and lisik (diligent) as the characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH is Siddiq (truthful), Amanah (trustworthy), Fathanah (intelligent), and Tabligh (deliver) and Seven Habits including Pro-Active, begin with the end in mind, put first things first, think win / win, Seek First to understand, than to be understood, Synergize, Sharpen the Saw. The philosophical value of bidik, mersik, cerdik and lisik can be seen in the ontological elements as the foundation of working, i.e. the epistemological elements as the problem-solving strategies and the axiological elements as the basic norms of work. It means the work philosophy development in learning can trigger the students' awareness about working performance. In fact, most of learning process makes little of awareness towards the work philosophy among the Gayo. community.
